On May 12th, Momen hosted a hands-on workshop at S-TOKYO, a cozy microcomplex in Tokyo that blends coworking, art, and community. The event brought together a global group of digital nomads, solo founders, and creators eager to explore how AI and no-code tools can power startup ideas—without the need to write code.

Japan Just Got Even Friendlier to Digital Nomads

Japan is quickly rising on the list of top destinations for remote professionals. As of April 1st, 2024, Japan officially launched its Digital Nomad Visa, allowing eligible remote workers to live and work from anywhere in the country for up to six months.

Whether it’s the vibrant startup scene in Tokyo, peaceful coworking spaces in Kyoto, or the remote islands of Okinawa, Japan is quickly becoming a top destination for remote professionals. And with its strong infrastructure, high safety, and deep cultural richness, it’s an ideal place for digital nomads to live—and build.

    No-code Tool for Digital Nomads

    Momen Workshop at S-TOKYO

Digital nomads thrive on flexibility, speed, and independence. Whether they’re launching a business from a café in Tokyo or a beach in Bali, they need tools that support agile, location-independent work.

As a full-stack no-code platform with built-in AI, Momen empowers remote creators to build and deploy powerful apps—without needing a technical team. It’s fast to learn, quick to ship, and easy to iterate. For solo founders and small teams, Momen makes it possible to turn ideas into working products from anywhere in the world, extend skill sets without a steep learning curve, and validate concepts fast.

For digital nomads, it's not just about building—it’s about building smarter, faster, and on their own terms. Momen fits right into that lifestyle.

Workshop Recap: Building an AI-Powered Online Course Platform

    Yaokai Live Demo in Action

Led by Momen’s founder, Yaokai Jiang, the workshop walked attendees through building a complete online course platform—from backend to frontend, monetization, and AI agents—in just two hours.

Each participant received $100 in Momen credits and built a real, deployable app using a guided template. The session was high-energy and hands-on, covering the full product development lifecycle:

    • Designing database structures for users, courses, authors, and categories

    • Creating a responsive frontend UI with conditional views

    • Setting up user authentication and access control

    • Integrating Stripe payments (sandbox mode)

    • Deploying an AI-powered Q&A agent using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

    • Configuring real-time updates via live database queries

    • Using custom React components and code blocks for advanced flexibility

The Conversation Continues After the Session

Most attendees were digital nomads with backgrounds in UI or product design. While they were comfortable with tools like Figma or Webflow, Momen’s backend logic builder and AI features were a game-changer—allowing them to build truly scalable, monetizable apps on their own.

One attendee from Houston shared plans to rebuild a group-buy eCommerce app using Momen. Others dove into product discussions around scalability, monetization, and how Momen compares to other no-code tools like Bubble and Webflow—especially when it comes to backend flexibility and real AI use cases.

    What’s Next

With the rise of coliving communities, remote-friendly visas, and powerful platforms like Momen, it’s never been easier to build a business from anywhere in the world.

The S-TOKYO session highlighted how no-code and AI are opening doors for founders and creators everywhere. Momen continues to support this movement with more workshops, updates, and real-world use cases.
